Annual City Sticker Sales

Reposted courtesy Alderman Dowell‘s May Newsletter

The City of Chicago has made some significant changes to the City Sticker program and is now offering year-round sales in order to improve services and save costs. For complete information, please visit The changes are as follows:

Staggered Renewal

There is now a staggered renewal schedule that is set to be 6 months after the expiration of your license plate. For example, if your license plate expires January 31st, your new city sticker renewal date will be July 31st. However, some motorists will remain on a June-to-June schedule such as: seniors (65 and older), antique vehicles, motorbikes, large volume purchasers (fleets), and no-fee stickers (i.e. disabled).

Prorated and Extended Sticker Options
Prorated and extended vehicle stickers are being offered. The prorated stickers are good for a period of 1 to 12 months while the extended sticker expires in 13 to 24 months.

All vehicle prices are set based on make and model and not determined by plate type.
