South Loop Elementary Local School Council (LSC) needs a new community representative from July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014.
If you are interested in joining the LSC, then please stop by the Main Office for the application materials, or they can be downloaded at the Local School Council website for Chicago Public Schools.
Application deadline is June 10, 2013.
Please attend the LSC meeting June 12th 6:15– 7:45 pm
This LSC meeting will include a Candidates Forum. Each applicant will have 3 minutes to present themselves, and the LSC will vote in closed session for the new representative.
The LSC is a hard working group comprised of the Principal, parents, teachers, staff, and community members. LSCs participate in the governance of Chicago Public Schools and are responsible for (3) main duties:
- Approving how school funds and resources are allocated
- Developing and monitoring the annual School Improvement Plan
- Evaluating and selecting the school’s principal.
