If so, register to be part of the World’s largest simultaneous swimming lesson on June 20 from 10 am to 11 am at Ping Tom Memorial Park.

The Chicago Park District has joined Team World’s Largest Swimming Lesson which holds the current Guinness World Record which stands at 32,450 participants. The event is both a chance to set a world record and raise awareness of water safety. Downing is the leading cause of injury-related death of children ages 1-5, and second leading cause of accidental death for children under 14. The event is open to all ages. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Registration is required prior to participation. Participants can register online through June 18th. Onsite registration will be available at 9am, only if available spots remain. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the event to complete the necessary participant release waiver. The lesson will promptly begin at 10am and will be 60 minutes.
