Women’s Park Field House Build Out Presentation

A message from Randall Raaflaub, President of the Park Advisory Council  for Women’s Park

What: PAC Presentation/Discussion on field house build out alternatives

Where: Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens field house

When: Monday, February 11th @ 6:30pm

With the Chicago Women’s Park & Gardens’ field house renovations about to begin, new Chicago Park District (CPD) ideas on using the space and Park Advisory Council (PAC) elections coming up soon…it’s a great time to be involved with what’s going on at the South Loop’s field house.   Renovations: about to begin 2013 conversion of the 2nd & 3rd floors to field house use

Please note, while the 1st floor play area will remain open, some camp programs may not be run during construction; plan on checking out the Northerly Island offerings this summer as one alternative

Park District/Kids Science Labs proposal:

  • leave 1st floor as is with kids’ rooms, large play area and current community room
  • convert only the 2nd floor to a couple dance/yoga studios and community rooms lease out the 3rd floor to private class/camp provider: Kids Science Labs
  • Upcoming PAC elections: late March/early April (TBD) PAC board elections, 1yr term

Check out the field house, listen to the Park District and Kids Science Labs’ proposal for the 3rd floor and give your feedback. This is the first (and possibly only) community discussion on how best to use the 3rd floor: leasing for private classes & camps vs public park programs & community use, and we would like as many South Loop residents to participate as possible.

We’ll see you there,   Randall Raaflaub, President
