True Rock Ministries’ Acts of Kindness program provides a variety of opportunities for involvement, including accepting furniture donations for families in need, backpacks with school supplies for children, a Thanksgiving food drive, and Christmas clothing drive. They also offer volunteer opportunities for youth mentoring.
Opportunities to Help Animals in Need:
The Anti-Cruelty Society (located at Grand Ave and LaSalle St) takes donations of newspapers for lining puppy and cat crates. If you have any newspaper around, please consider dropping them off.
Chicago Animal Care and Control (2741 S. Western) appreciates donations of towels, sheets, and blankets for their shelter. They especially need fleece blankets, which the dogs love best.
